What happens
their leader bombastically announced to his nation that the other nation's soul and fate were now shared with our nation in a tremendous ceremony with much fanfare. our leader announced much the same thing, but in far more measured terms. It is the hope of our officials that by aligning the other nation hopefully their more expansionist tendencies can be kept on a leash, and their great power status instead used to protect the smaller nations of the Mediterranean from hegemonies that would seek to devour them whole.
