How to Research Instantly in HOI4

Falling behind on technology is one of the quickest ways to lose a war in Hearts of Iron IV — outdated guns, tanks and planes lose battles they should win. The console lets you skip the research grind entirely, either all at once or by making every tech near-instant.

How to research everything at once

Open the console with the ~ key.
Type research all and press Enter to unlock the entire tech tree instantly.

Tips

research all grants techs ahead of their historical date, which can unlock equipment your factories are not yet set up to build — pair it with add_equipment if you want the hardware too.
