Frequently asked questions
What is the add manpower command in HOI4?
manpower [amount] instantly adds that many recruits to your country's recruitable manpower pool — manpower 100000 adds 100,000. It is the fastest way to refill after a costly war.
What is manpower used for in HOI4?
Manpower is the pool of people used to raise new divisions and to reinforce existing ones after losses. When it runs dry, divisions stop receiving replacements and slowly bleed strength.
Why is my manpower zero in HOI4?
Long wars and low conscription laws drain the pool faster than it regenerates. Top it up with the manpower command, or raise war support so you can switch to a higher conscription law that recruits a larger share of the population.
Is there a maximum amount of manpower I can add?
No practical limit — manpower 1000000 gives a near-endless reserve. The pool simply holds whatever you add until it is spent on divisions or reinforcements.
