Brazilian Military Launches Coup

Despite attempts by President in courting the various factions of the military and Integralist movement, the former has become impatient with the pace of change by the beleaguered president and taken matters into their own hands. In a swift military operation, major infrastructure and communications were secured across the nation before troops stormed the Catete Palace in Rio de Janeiro where was captured. While it remains to be seen what will change in the daily politics of the nation under military rule, one thing is certain in that the new government will be taking a hard line against any rumblings of communist dissent among the population.
