What happens
Earlier this morning, Prime Minister Keisuke Okada was gunned down by Tokkō secret police officers while waiting to take the Yamanote Line at Tokyo Station. Soon after, the military issued a threat to the Imperial Diet, stating that any attempt to exclude them will be met by force. This is a clear escalation of the situation, and interim PM Machida Chūji has appealed to the Emperor to acknowledge the situation and make a statement. Only time will tell which side he will take.
