Japanese Young Officer Coup

A group of young officers has succeeded in toppling the government and reinstating the Emperor as the supreme ruler of the Japanese nation. It appears this was a reaction to perceived threats of wide-spread government corruption and adherents to hostile ideologies. Already referring to the nation even more consistently in Imperial terms, the officers have announced purges will continue until 'all unsavory elements have been removed from the military and the government'. Emperor Hirohito, himself, has released a brief statement assuming the leadership offered to him by the rebels, and made clear overtures of reconciliation with China and the Western colonial powers in the Pacific.
