What happens
As the other nation has recently collapsed into civil war, many of our industrialists and individual citizens are gathering up aid for the beleaguered their government as it struggles to contain the communist menace. Some of the more ardent anti-communists in the military are now suggesting we use this as an opportunity to equip and send military volunteers to aid in the conflict, while maintaining plausible deniability for the government.
