Vichy holds onto West Africa

Following a series of failed assaults and sharp fighting, the local allied commander has called for a halt of offensive operations in the area and has ordered his exposed units to fall back onto more defensible terrain. Vich forces have consolidated around the key locations and dug in, making further attacks unlikely to succeed.
