What happens
Belgium seems to think we are incapable of seizing independence from them through force, and have called our bluff. They have offered us the "opportunity" to become an overseas department, essentially making us an extention of their nation with rights to citizenship but without the autonomy to forge our own future. They might be right that we lack the military strength to oppose this, however the choice is ultimately ours.
