What happens
Word has reaches us from the Heraklion Convention that the major powers attending have approved the Greek proposal of the "Megali Idea". Not only does this threaten the stability of the region, it also represents a major risk of an outright state of war erupting between Greece and Turkey in the not-too-distant future. The possibility cannot be discounted that Greece may obtain the military backing of France or Britain, and considering our present military obligations to Turkey we may well find ourselves on the wrong side of a war with either, if not possibly both, of these major powers. Our military leaders urge us to bear this in mind and re-evaluate our commitment to the defense of Turkey.
