What happens
Our top diplomats and generals have recently met, and advised us that should this conflict remain limited in scope, that is if no other major powers were to get involved, then we might be able to bring France to the table and secure a quick peace deal. We know that they are afraid of rising tensions, and like us have no wish to be drawn into yet another global conflict. As such, it is our calculation that should Paris fall, this would be enough of a demonstration of our capabilities that they might be willing to negotiate the transfer of disputed Calais.
