What happens
Émile Vandervelde, nicknamed 'le patron' (the boss), the long standing Socialist politician and Prime Minister of Belgium has died. He was well known as a member of the Belgian delegation at the Paris Peace Conference which concluded the Great War, and whom had become a staunch opponent of Fascism, even advocating for direct intervention in the Spanish Civil War on the Republican side. Henri de Man has taken over has the new Prime Minister, and will be sworn in by the King later today.
