A Surprising Display of German Mercy.

We have been reached by a remarkable story from the Air Force. After a botched bomb run on German military industry, our bomber ''Ye Olde Pub'' had suffered severe damage, lost one crewmember and saw the rest badly injured. The crew, led by 2nd Lt. Charles ''Charlie'' Brown, had refused to bail and leave behind those that could not make a safe landing to go down with the plane. As the straggling plane once again found itself intercepted by a hostile fighter with barely any funtioning armaments left to defend herself, the crew was shocked to see the fighter would not open fire. Through gestures and mouthing of words the German pilot attempted to communicate with the crew. Despite great efforts on both sides no means of communication were possible. The fighter accompanied ''Ye Olde Pub'' out of German airspace and as the crew turned their one remaining gun on the fighter to signal that they no longer needed his support, the fighter pilot gave a salute, and returned back to Germany. The story brings hope that there are still good people, even on our opponents side, but allowing this story to spread free among our population and our troops may have unwanted side effects.
