Siege of the National Assembly

Artemio Ricarte, returning from exile with a cadre of followers armed with a variety of Japanese arms have claimed to have found and apprehended the assassin of Manuel Quezon, however, Police Chief Eisenhower refuted the claim, and stating that the man was a poor peasant paid to be a scapegoat. In response, the group then marched on the National Assembly determined to see justice done, and stormed the building. Shots were fired at the entrance, and two bystanders were hit. The American-sponsored guards were blamed, and Eisenhower was forced to withdraw the constabulary from the area for fear of escalating the tension. Despite his efforts, mobs formed, incited by Sakdalista rebels bussed in from the surrounding regions threatened to overwhelm the police entirely. In desperation Eisenhower has sent an urgent message to the American garrison for assistance.
