Douglas MacArthur Ordered To The Philippines

President the American leader has restored Douglas MacArthur back to active service and assigned him to command the newly formed United States Army Forces in the Far East, stationed in the Philippines. The President made this appointment as MacArthur has been worked as a military advisor in the Philippines for a number of years, and is well informed as to the defensive situation there. In order to better allow him to direct forces on the ground there, we will no longer have control over him. We will, however, be able to recall him should we need his talents here. We should think carefully about doing so, however, as his leaving the Philippines could be seen as a withdrawal of American interests, and an abandoning of our responsibilities across the Pacific at this crucial time.
