Defender of the Slavs

Once more, Russia has assumed the mantle of "Defender of the Slavs", issuing guarantees to other slavic peoples in Europe. In a statement, the Russian leader has vowed that "all resources available to Russia will be brought to bear to benefit all slavic peoples, and protect them from outside threats." Specifically citing its entry into the Great War to illustrate it is a country that keeps its promises, the Russian government seems to be under no illusions what their guarantees may lead to, and that they do not intend to shirk their responsibilities.
