What happens
In what is a direct violation of the Treaty of Versailles, German troops have crossed the Rhine and marched into the Rhineland territory, close to the French border. While the reaction from Britain has been muted so far, the French are mobilizing their forces in preparation for an armed incursion into Germany. War has once again broken out in Europe!
