What happens
The Australian and Dutch government today announced a "Joint Cooperation and Defense Pact" that will see the Dutch colonial holdings in Southeast Asia placed under the protection of the Australian armed forces. The treaty was signed by the Dutch governor of Indonesia and the Australian leader, who announced that the deal will include full colonial administration, due to the "distant and challenging situation in Europe." The Dutch government has issued no statement on the treaty.
