Mexican-American Border Clashes

American troops on the Southern border have been placed on high alert, as recent its aggression against the American military base at the Panamá Canal raises the possibility of a large scale war between the two neighbors. Though the leader's surprise attack failed, the American president has reportedly decided to punish the insolent Southern neighbor. The 'gutter press' is denouncing the as a clique of bandits with no respect for international law, and calling for regime change. If a Second Mexican-American War breaks out, it would be fought in the harsh and unforgiving terrain of mountains and deserts, with much greater loss of life than the small scuffle in 1847 which preceded the Mexican Cession.
