What happens
The Organization of African Unity has established an executive council to manage the political affairs of its members. The council consists of representatives from member states and attempts to steer foreign and domestic policy in a unified direction. Joining would be a step towards full political and economic integration with the other member states. However, this would obviously entail a loss of our current political independence if we were to join.
